19 Jan 2012Just got a call from this number. It is listed as Wash-It Laundromat, 309 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira, NY 14904. It was the Microsoft support scam. I knew about the scam and luckily I am a computer specialist.

I was glad I was selected for the call. I played dumb to see where the guys would lead me, like a cat plays with the mouse he just caught.

I had to make the guys repeat a lot because he was really hard to understand. I knew from the beginning it was a scam because the first sentence he said was "Microsoft Support". Then I must have made him repeat every sentence 4-5 time. At one point, I asked him to hold on so I could get to my computer. In reality, I was reverse-looking the phone number. When I came back on the phone, it was a different guy that was much easier to understand. He asked me to start the command line interpreter to view the version number of Windows. Then he asks me to run the event viewer. I was playing dumb and doing things very slowly. I must have been on the phone for maybe 5-6 minutes at that point in time. I guess the guy figured this was taking too much time, the call got disconnected (I presume he hung up).

I also received a phone call from this number. It's really hard to understand his accent. He asked to turn on computer. I told him it's on. Then he asked me what's on screen. Such a silly question. So I just asked him what do you want to offer. He said he offer nothing. Then I hung up.

I should play with him for longer time.
